Well, Germany was a good friend of Alfred and as such showed up a lot, but with him came Italy, so there had to be back story and they ended up being next-door neighbor childhood friends. Germany was in utter denial of his homosexual inclinations and used sports to compensate. it was somewhere between hilarious and pathetic, and overall too psychologically interesting not to explore.

No, definitely not!
